Core Emergency Supplies
•Water: 1 gallon per person, per day.
•Food: 3-day supply of non-perishable, easy-to-prepare food and a manual can opener.
•Power & Light: Flashlight, extra batteries, and a hand-crank or battery-powered NOAA weather
radio.
•First Aid: First aid kit, extra gauze, bandages, antiseptic, and tweezers.
•Health: 7-day supply of prescription medications and basic medical supplies.
Specialized Needs
•Tools & Safety: Multi-purpose tool, dust masks (to filter contaminated air), wrench or pliers (to turn
off utilities), and a whistle.
•Sanitation: Moist towelettes, garbage bags, and plastic ties for personal hygiene.
•Baby/Pet: Infant formula, diapers, pet food, and extra water.
Important Documents (The “5 P’s”)
Pack physical or waterproof digital copies (on a USB) of the following:
•People & Pets (Emergency contacts and IDs)
•Prescriptions (Medical records and dosage information)
•Photos (Recent photos of family members/pets)
•Papers (Insurance policies, deeds, bank records, and property inventories)
